I am happy to announce that our perspective article “Potential of Transition Metal Dichalcogenide Transistors for Flexible Electronics Applications” has been published in Advanced Electronic Materials.
In this perspective article an in-depth discussion of the current state-of-the-art for transistors based on two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) is provided, highlighting their potential as alternative semiconductor materials for flexible electronics. We also compare their performance with other thin-film-transistor materials suitable for flexible electronics and discuss the challenges associated with material synthesis, device fabrication, upscaling production, and potential application scenarios.
Many thanks to Agata Piacentini, Alwin Daus, Zhenxing Wang and, Max Lemme for the great work leading to this perspective and to the European Commission and Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - German Research Foundation for funding it.
